LONDON – June 18, 2015 – Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR) and Trainline, the UK’s leading online train ticket provider, have signed a long-term agreement to bring fully integrated UK rail content into the Sabre travel marketplace. Sabre will integrate with the rail provider’s API, Trainline Connect, making all of its UK rail content available to over 425,000 Sabre-connected travel agents globally.

The new capability addresses an important need for travel agencies in the UK, where rail transportation has grown in popularity among business and leisure travellers. With this new solution, travel agents can now provide travellers with rail options in the same way they offer airline and hotel travel.

The content is made available to travel agents using the very latest API functionality and integrated into Sabre Red Workspace via a graphical user interface, enabling agents to easily and efficiently shop, book and manage UK rail journeys in the Sabre GDS.

Clare Gilmartin, CEO for Trainline, said: “In a fast changing rail distribution landscape we are passionate about using technology to bring a world class rail experience to each of our customers. Sabre demonstrates those same values and we’re delighted they have chosen to partner with Trainline to provide UK rail to their global marketplace.”

Harald Eisenaecher, senior vice president for Sabre Travel Network, Europe, Middle East and Africa said: “Trainline shares our appetite for constant innovation and new capabilities that enhance the traveller experience. Our innovative API solution will connect their online platform to our marketplace, helping travel buyers book their rail content faster and more efficiently, and driving new revenue streams for Trainline.”

Ian Cairns, thetrainline.com B2B sales director said: “I’m delighted to make Trainline content available in Sabre’s global travel marketplace. This builds on Trainline’s ethos of providing UK rail to customers “their way”, and will significantly expand our global reach so agents all over the world can shop and book our rail content.”

Sabre’s travel marketplace facilitates the marketing and sale of rail tickets, airfares, hotel rooms, rental cars and other types of travel, to more than 425,000 travel agents and thousands of corporations who use it to shop, book and manage travel. It is one of the world’s largest marketplaces, processing over $110 billion in estimated travel spend.
