New Omani Low-Cost Carrier Will Serve Arabian Peninsula and Beyond
Orlando, FL, June 6, 2017 – Radixx International, an industry-leading provider of custom tailored airline reservation, distribution and merchandizing systems, announced that it is now working with Oman’s first budget airline, SalamAir.
Preparing to serve six countries on the Arabia Peninsula, SalamAir went live on January 31st, 2017, with an initial flight from Salalah International Airport to Muscat International Airport. The airline also commenced international services to Dubai, UAE and as of April 16th, 2017, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Most recently, SalamAir added Medina as a destination, as well as routes to the Pakistani cities of Multan and Sialkot.
SalamAir is initially servicing the Omani airspace with three Airbus A320s and has plans to rapidly expand the fleet. The carrier aims to improve both domestic and regional travel options by providing affordable fares on underserviced and expensive routes, in turn boosting the country’s tourism industry. SalamAir is also proud to provide ample employment opportunities.
Eng. Khalid bin Hilal Al Yahmadi, Chairman of SalamAir stated,
“We are happy to note that 68% of our staff is Omani and that several small and medium enterprises contributed to this accomplishment. At SalamAir, we ensure to resonate the Omani experience in everything we do.”
SalamAir was made into a reality in less than 12 months through a network of domestic and international partners, including Radixx International, who was chosen as the carrier’s Passenger Service Systems provider due to its customizable nature, affordability and reputation.
According to SalamAir CEO Francois Bouteiller,
“We chose Radixx as our partner because of its unparalleled hybrid distribution capabilities, and for the industry-leading ancillary revenue solutions the company provides. Carriers like ours are always looking for the most innovative ways to deliver top-quality service to passengers, while at the same time maximizing revenues. To this end, Radixx was the clear partner of choice.”
Ron Peri, Radixx International CEO, comments that
“Radixx is thrilled to expand its presence in the Middle East through our partnership with SalamAir. Francois Bouteiller is a proven and recognized leader in the international airline industry.
