Sabre signs new technology agreement with Azerbaijan Airlines

SOUTHLAKE,  Texas, Oct. 21, 2014 -–Travel agents in Azerbaijan can now quickly and efficiently shop and book Azerbaijan Airlines’ full content including fares, availability and schedules in the Sabre global distribution system. Azerbaijan’s flag carrier has been a long-time Sabre customer, marketing and selling its fares to Sabre agents globally outside its home country.  Under the newly expanded agreement, Azerbaijan Airlines will now make all its content available locally to all agents using Sabre in Azerbaijan. “This is great news for local travel agents, who can now use Sabre’s travel marketplace to efficiently shop, book and manage all travel needs locally and internationally,” said Natig Nabiyev, Director Business Development, at Sabre in Azerbaijan.   “There’s been a lot of travel agency interest in our technology since we opened an office here earlier this year, and the addition of local Azerbaijan content strengthens our unique offering.  We look forward to partnering with the industry, and driving growth and success for all our customers.” Jamil Manizade, Commercial Director at Azerbaijan Airlines said: “Our objective is to expand both regionally and to North America and we are thrilled that our partnership with Sabre can be extended to support this strategy. Sabre’s strong global reach and presence is critical to helping us drive revenue and yields, particularly on new routes such as our twice-weekly Baku to New York flight which commences on 24th September.” Sabre’s travel marketplace plays an important role in facilitating the marketing and sale of ancillaries, airfares, hotel rooms, rental cars, rail tickets and other types of travel, to more than 400,000 travel agents and thousands of corporations who use it to shop, book and manage travel. It is one of the world’s largest marketplaces, processing over $100 billion in estimated travel spend. Azerbaijan Airlines joins more than 400 global carriers who participate in Sabre’s travel marketplace to market and sell their fares and inventory.
