Sabre Selects TRX to Provide New Business Intelligence Capabilities to Sabre Red Portfolio

Comprehensive Data and Reporting Capabilities Help Agencies Enhance Business Performance and Provide Greater Value to Corporations

SOUTHLAKE, TX and ATLANTA, GA , August 9 2010 – Sabre Travel Network, the leading provider of high performance solutions for the travel industry, today presented a sneak preview of its new Sabre Red Business Intelligence product at the NBTA Convention in Houston, ahead of its global rollout later this year. Demonstrations are available at the Sabre booth #1024 at NBTA.

The new Business Intelligence product will leverage the powerful reporting and data consolidation capabilities of TRX’s industry-leading TRAVELTRAX® solution, with the richness of Sabre’s data warehouse which contains real-time transaction information and three years’ worth of historical travel data. Using the solution, agencies will gain access to the industry’s most comprehensive travel data, an extensive range of graphical dashboards, and intuitive reports including deep benchmarking tools that will help them improve their own business performance and provide powerful insights into their clients’ travel programs. The product is the first of its kind in the market.

Sabre Red Business Intelligence will offer reporting capabilities for both agencies and the corporations they serve. Key capabilities include:

  • Industry Benchmarking – leveraging extensive travel industry data from Sabre’s data warehouse, the new solution will enable agencies to provide higher value consultancy by benchmarking their own business performance and their clients’ against industry standards. Using this, agencies can determine percentage of tickets purchased seven days in advance versus industry benchmark; number of overnight trips purchased with a hotel against industry standard, and average number of refunds and exchanges per ticket compared to the industry average.   
  • Agency Management – extensive reporting capabilities and graphical dashboards for an agency to better manage their own business and identify revenue opportunities and cost savings. Insights are available on agency sales, agent productivity, pre-trip booking information, agency market share, and supplier revenue and share, to name a few. 
  • Corporate Client Management -agencies can provide corporate clients with easy-to-read reports on spend management, program management, policy compliance, cost savings, carbon emissions, supplier activity and benchmarking insights. Agencies can also provide customers with direct access to the Sabre Red Business Intelligence solution to enable self-service reporting.

TRX’s TRAVELTRAX® solution is used by more than 10,000 corporations and hundreds of travel agencies around the world. By transforming transaction data into actionable insights, clients have achieved overall travel program savings of up to 15 percent and as much as 25 percent on popular city-pair routes.

Announced in June, Sabre Red is an innovative portfolio of solutions designed to help agencies drive customer loyalty and power business performance. Last week the company commenced its global rollout of its Sabre Red Workspace, the agent platform at the heart of the Sabre Red solution. More than 800 customers in 50 countries are now using the Workspace, with Sabre’s remaining agency customers expected to upgrade by the end of the year.

Sabre plans to expand the reporting capabilities in its new Business Intelligence product to provide even greater insights into areas such as agency and corporate client productivity, duplicate bookings and credit card and expense data. The company also expects to make the product available to corporations through its GetThere collaboration management solution in future.
