Sabre introduces the Travel Expert Index

Research panel of industry experts offers perspective on today's trends


SOUTHLAKE, Texas – Nov. 15, 2016 – Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR) today introduced the Travel Expert Index, a hand-picked collective of industry insiders that will offer a real-time perspective each month on the most important issues affecting the industry. Travel Expert Index (TEI) panelists are curated across industry segments to voice opinions on hot topics, including market conditions or technology disruptors, starting with the theme of personalization in this month’s inaugural TEI findings. Recent Sabre research found that a near-majority of 94 percent of travelers want to pick and choose options customized to them, so we presented our TEI panelists with the following questions:
  1. As the travel industry personalizes, what other industry should we look to for inspiration?
  2. Which company do you feel currently excels in personalization?
As demonstrated in the resulting infographic, the technology industry was cited most often followed by the telecommunications and banking industries. In terms of specific companies, Apple and Amazon garnered the most mentions but it is interesting to note that organizations in the retail (Bonobos), healthcare (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) and hospitality (Fairmont Hotels) spaces were also singled out.
