Bangalore, India, June 8, 2015 – Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR), a leading technology provider to the global travel and tourism industry, today announced the expansion of its Bangalore global technology development center as a part of the company’s focus on growth and commitment to serving the technology needs of its global travel industry clients. The expansion of the Sabre Bangalore center creates more than 300 new positions across multiple technology and customer-facing functions for all its major businesses – Sabre Travel Network, Sabre Airlines Solutions and Sabre Hospitality Solutions. Sabre Bangalore was launched in 2005 and was awarded India’s Best Companies to Work For in 2009 by the Great Places to Work (GPTW). The center currently has about 850 employees. The growth in Bangalore will help Sabre expand and enhance its technology offerings to its global customer base of more than 425,000 travel agents, 400 airlines and 176,000 hotel properties. A number of roles will support the development of mission-critical solutions such as reservations technology and decision-support solutions for some of Sabre’s largest airline and hospitality customers. The site will also continue to support multiple technology functions such as product development, enterprise data and analytics, operations research, and customer-centric functions – customer care/support, customer implementation and consulting. The new office was opened by Deborah Kerr, Chief Products and Technology Officer for Sabre. “The Bangalore center is a critical component of our technology strategy, and our decision to invest and grow the site is a testament to the quality of talent that has flourished at the center over the years. Since its launch in 2005, the center has built core competencies in delivering innovative technology to the travel industry.” Shail Maniar, Vice President, Sabre Bangalore, said: “Sabre Bangalore has continued to attract and retain the best talent in the travel technology Industry. We have a great team in place that continues to deliver cutting edge and innovative technology that makes a difference to the lives of millions of consumers through our travel partners across the globe.” “This year we expect a lot more innovative technology development to happen out of the Bangalore center that will help us better serve our global and local customer needs,” Maniar added. The Bangalore center expansion follows the announcement of Sabre’s anticipated acquisition of Abacus International, a leading global distribution system (GDS) in Asia-Pacific in May 2015, which will also expand Sabre’s presence in the region.
