SOUTHLAKE, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Feb. 1, 2005–Sabre Airline
Solutions, in partnership with Thailand-based information technology
contractor Songkhla Finishing Co., has announced it has been selected
to provide Thai International Airways with the technology to deliver a
complete airport resource management solution.
Songkhla, a leading systems integrator, has selected the Sabre
Streamline Resource Management Suite from Sabre Airline Solutions to
provide Thai Airways with advanced resource management technology.
According to Phengphian Laogumnerd, manager of Songkhla Finishing
Co., the Streamline suite was selected as the clear market leader with
the functionality to enable Thai Airways to improve its staff
planning, rostering, administration and utilization. Furthermore,
Phengphian observed that no other provider matched the Streamline
suite’s capability in depth and breadth across systems of the
end-to-end resource management solution.
“Songkhla was tasked with the challenge of providing Thai Airways
with an end-to-end resource management system that could address the
needs of a large, complex airline. I’m confident the Streamline suite
will deliver superior benefits to Thai Airways,” said Phengphian.
“Working with Sabre Airline Solutions gives us access to the very best
IT systems on the market, and we are looking forward to seeing
tangible results at Thai Airways, such as improving the customer
service experience through precisely planned and optimized staffing
levels.”
By utilizing the Streamline suite, Thai Airways will realize
operational staff efficiencies and optimal use of its airport ground
staff through more effective demand planning, shifting, employee
administration and cross-utilization decisions. The solution will also
help the carrier identify and execute variations in staffing levels
required to support a given schedule, such as changes due to tourism
seasonality or to competitor market actions. The flexibility,
scalability, and optimization intelligence of the Streamline suite
allows carriers of all sizes to benefit from usage of the full suite
or individual component systems as specific needs require.
“Not only will Thai Airways see improvements in its staffing
levels but significant operational efficiencies will also be realized
through process automation since the Streamline solution actually
reduces the time and effort required to generate staffing
requirements, create rosters, publish named rosters and manage and
administer employees,” added Phengphian.
Cameron Curtis, Sabre Airline Solutions’ vice president for the
Asia/Pacific region, said, “Songkhla has been an outstanding partner
of Sabre Airline Solutions and recognizes the benefits Thai Airways
will reap by implementing our resource management tools. This system
rollout has commenced, led by Songkhla and supported by Streamline
suite implementation consultants, and is planned to be in production
by summer 2005. The implementation of this system will be one of the
key tools used as Thai Airways transitions its airline operations to
the new Suvarnabhumi Airport later this year.”
Thai Airways is a long-term customer of Sabre Airline Solutions
and already utilizes the PC AirFlite flight scheduling system, the
Sabre Qik Business Processing Solutions, the Sabre Dispatch Manager
and the Sabre AirCrews Crew Management Suite. With the addition of
Thai Airways, nearly 40 customers around the world utilize at least
one system of the Streamline suite to improve their resource
management efficiency.
