SOUTHLAKE, Texas – Aug. 5, 2013 – Sabre, a global travel technology company, has introduced a series of enhancements to its Hotel RFP solution including new squatter rate audit capabilities and a new portal where travel buyers and hotel suppliers can connect.
Sabre Hotel RFP is an intelligent online solution for hotel procurement, uniting travel buyers with hotels to efficiently solicit, negotiate and audit hotel room rates and amenities for their corporate hotel programs. Squatter rates are a known industry issue whereby hotels display higher room rates to corporate travelers as if they were a preferred property. Sabre’s squatter rate audit tool gives corporate travel managers and agencies a way to detect these hotels and rates so the offending properties can be blocked or removed. ”When hotels load squatter rates, they confuse travelers and minimize volume to the negotiated hotels in their corporate program,” says Cassandra Rollins, general manager of Sabre Hotel RFP. “Identifying these squatters helps bring greater value to the company’s managed program and increases share to their preferred properties.” Sabre also recently added a way for hotels that do not currently participate in any global distribution system to compete for more corporate business through the Non-GDS Portal. Through the portal, hoteliers can self-manage their content and respond to RFPs issued by the nearly 1,200 travel buyers using Sabre Hotel RFP. These hotels can also compete for unsolicited bids when they qualify on the basis of proximity and quality. “There are still a significant number of properties in certain regions that don’t make their rooms and rates available across all channels,” said Rollins. “With our new portal, travel buyers now have the ability to source hotels in more regions across more channels than ever before.”home » insights » releases » sabre adds new hotel rfp tools to reduce corporations costs and increase travelers choices
