Radixx Expands Relationship with Air Iceland Connect to Include Hosting and Go Live on Radixx Res

Posted April 1, 2020

Radixx,a leading global airline retailing software provider, announces the successful hosting migration and go-live of Air Iceland Connect to their industry-leading passenger processing solution, Radixx Res™.

Previously self-hosted, the Icelandic airline who has been technology partners with Radixx for over ten years, migrated to hosting by Radixx at their tier 3 data center in Orlando, Florida. The migration was a major milestone for both the airline and Radixx as it required a version upgrade, overseen by the Radixx Project Management team and a dedicated team at Air Iceland Connect who worked closely together for several months. The migration and go-live were completed without any major interruption in service for passengers.

Commenting on the joint team effort, Guðmundur Ogmundsson, IT Manager at Air Iceland Connect stated, “This was an important accomplishment to our core business as it provides our airline the opportunity to take advantage of Radixx’s modern retailing and revenue-boosting products. Utilizing their technology, we are able to increase ancillary sales and seamlessly integrate with the Radixx Go DCS and other external systems for increased operational efficiency.”

Air Iceland Connect will utilize Radixx Res™ for the unique merchandising capabilities natively built to differentiate their offering and improve the passenger experience. Their airline also plans to integrate their schedules system with Radixx Res™ through SSIM files, further increasing automation and operational efficiency. Built within Radixx Res™, the airline is taking advantage of Radixx Retailer to gain control over their ancillary offer.

Birgitta Bender, IT Project Manager for Air Iceland commented, “For our airline, moving to a modern, simple browser-based system was the right decision as it increases the users’ and therefore, the passengers’ experiences making the entire travel journey more enjoyable.”

The Radixx technology platform will play an instrumental role as the carrier forges ahead with plans to implement vouchers and memberships using the Radixx Res™ Profiles module.
