Porter Airlines Launches Canadian Service with Sabre Airline Solutions’ Operational Control Suite

Business Editors/Travel Writers

2006–Toronto-based Porter Airlines Inc., Canada’s newest carrier, and
Sabre Airline Solutions, the global leader of software and services
for the airline industry from planning to execution, today announced
that Porter will launch its service in October 2006 using the Sabre(R)
Flight Control Suite. The package helps maintain operational control,
manage crew tracking and compliance, and produce optimized flight
plans for flights to and from destinations in Canada and the United
States. By selecting Sabre FliteTrac, CrewTrac and Dispatch Manager
systems to provide business-critical functionality, Porter Airlines
joins more than 60 North American carriers that rely on the long track
record of Sabre Airline Solutions for providing fully automated and
integrated flight operations solutions.

“Porter Airlines selected the CrewTrac, FliteTrac and Dispatch
Manager systems because of the ability to seamlessly integrate with
third-parties and provide us with a complete dispatch solution for our
aircraft,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines.

The Flight Control Suite is designed to streamline crew and flight
operations, regardless of airline size. Often referred to as “SOC in a
box,” these products fully automate an airline’s systems operations
control (SOC) center and manage crew assignments. Airlines benefit
with improved operational coordination and enhanced personnel
efficiency, adding to bottom-line performance in today’s highly
competitive market.

“As a start-up airline, Porter has to ensure that critical
business areas will be ready to go on the first day of operations,”
said Ilia Kostov, Sabre Airline Solutions’ vice president of airline
operations. “Choosing the Flight Control Suite, a proven and highly
effective solution, allows the airline’s personnel to concentrate on
trouble-free operations and exemplary passenger service. Additionally,
Porter can operate from day one with the business advantage of
improved crew utilization, better regulatory compliance, improved
aircraft utilization and reduced delays due to crew and/or aircraft
