GetThere obtains visa, passport services through new agreement with CIBT

New solution will be fully integrated into travel shopping and booking process

SOUTHLAKE, Texas, July 24, 2013 – GetThere, a global technology company serving corporations, has signed an agreement with CIBT, the world’s largest travel visa and passport company, to help corporate travelers receive the fastest delivery of required travel documentation.

The process of obtaining a visa, passport or other paperwork required by governments when traveling can be time-consuming and confusing. CIBT’s solution will be fully integrated into GetThere’s travel shopping and booking process for fast, secure and efficient service. Corporate customers will receive timely, proactive notifications when a destination requiring a visa is booked in GetThere.

This new service ensures corporate travelers have all required documentation well before departure and will no longer risk trip cancellations or delays because required government paperwork was not completed.

“Obtaining visas and passports can be a time-consuming process that complicates and sometimes even prevents international travel,” said Paul Wiley, chief product and strategy officer for GetThere. “Providing this new service will help our customers obtain government documents quickly, securely and hassle-free. It’s another valuable tool to make corporate travel easier.”

CIBT can obtain travel visas to over 200 countries, including electronic visas like an Australian ETA. CIBT offers a full line of U.S. passport services and can obtain other documents such as letters of invitation, legalizations and document translations.

Last year CIBT assisted nearly one million people in obtaining the documents required for international travel, including popular destinations such as China, India, Russia, Australia, and Saudi Arabia.

Their customers include employees of the world’s largest corporations, and customers of cruise lines, tour operators, and travel management companies. More than two-thirds of FORTUNE 500 companies and the world’s largest tour operators and cruise lines use CIBT services.

“Working with GetThere will help us provide our invaluable services to an even broader audience,” said John Donoghue, president and CEO of CIBT. “And with GetThere fully integrating our solution into the efficiency of their corporate booking tool, business travelers will be provided the ultimate in convenience.”
