GetThere and ComBTAS announce technology agreement to provide best-in-class solution for corporate travel management

Integration of travel and expense management tools will enhance business travel management

LONDON, Nov. 7, 2013 – GetThere, the world’s leading travel and collaboration management solution, has signed a technology agreement with ComBTAS, a company that specializes in travel management and expense systems for businesses.

Organizations using GetThere and ComBTAS will benefit from a fully integrated and seamless travel and expense management solution by generating additional value from ComBTAS’ pre-trip budget management and policy enforcement capabilities. This provides corporations greater ability to control spend before bookings are made.

Central to the integrated solution is ComBTAS’s Budget Matrix which holds all the relevant travel budget data for an organisation. Each and every cost added to a trip is subtracted from the Budget Matrix, allowing approvers to view a running budget total when approving business travel.

Paul Wiley, GetThere’s chief product and strategy officer, said: “This GetThere and ComBTAS combination is a powerful solution for our corporate customers. It gives corporations a powerful tool with which to monitor spend and travel behavior by being able to see the impact of the cost of the requested trip on the travel budget in real time, thus keeping a constant close eye on overall travel spend.”

Avi Krudo, chief executive of ComBTAS, said: “The technology is also extremely flexible and implements in just a few weeks, providing travel managers with a tool that will function with any travel management company (TMC), global distribution system (GDS), corporate card, or currency exchange provider.”

Integrating GetThere and ComBTAS allows travellers to shop and book online and easily submit their expense reports. Within the tool the travel manager can analyse online, offline and expense report information, giving them a complete and comprehensive database of all travel spend.
