ATA Selects Sabre Airline Solutions to Help Streamline its Resources

    SOUTHLAKE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2004--

ATA Joins a Growing Number of Low-Cost Carriers Using the Sabre
Streamline Resource Management Suite to Efficiently and
                   Cost-Effectively Manage Resources

ATA Airlines, the 10th largest U.S.-based airline, recently
selected the Sabre Streamline Resource Management Suite from Sabre
Airline Solutions, the industry leader in airline operations
technology, to increase its operational efficiency by optimally
planning and allocating employee resources.

ATA will utilize the following modules of the Streamline suite:
the Sabre StaffPlan staff forecasting and planning system, Sabre
StaffAdmin employee tracking and assignment system, and the Sabre
StaffManager automated staff allocation system.

“We wanted a complete resource management system that could help
us plan and manage employee resources,” said Doug Yakola, vice
president of station operations for ATA. “The solution had to be
flexible and adaptable not only to address our current needs, but also
our future business goals. Our primary goal was to find a partner that
had the experience and ability to tailor a product for our needs, yet
still meet our absolute requirement to do so in the most cost
efficient way possible. After an intensive evaluation, the Streamline
suite was proven to offer the solution that best fits our needs.”

The Streamline suite represents a comprehensive solution for staff
resource management. The suite helps airlines continue to grow while
maintaining cost leadership through operational efficiency, integrated
systems, and optimal resource planning and allocation. The Streamline
suite helps airlines automate staffing processes so that airline
personnel can focus on making faster, more accurate decisions rather
than spending time processing data.

Currently, more than 35 customers around the world — including
the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, bmi and Cathay
Pacific Airways — utilize tools from the Streamline suite. In the
last six months, low-cost carriers such as Frontier Airlines and
WestJet have selected modules of the Streamline suite to help automate
their resource allocation process.

“The necessity to improve operational efficiencies as they relate
to resource planning is increasingly evident as the LCCs continue to
grow their business,” said Steve Clampett, president of Airline
Products and Services for Sabre Airline Solutions. “Growth can bring
new challenges, and the LCCs are seeking proven, integrated technology
like the Streamline suite to continue to drive improved resource
utilization to maintain their cost advantage without introducing
complexity.”

The Streamline suite has proven return on investment for existing
customers, which include:

-- The StaffPlan system: reduces staffing requirements by up to
25 percent through improved shift schedules and improves staff
utilization by up to seven percent through increased
        cross-utilization.

-- The StaffAdmin system: provides improvements of up to five
percent in staff utilization through improved rostering and
improves administrative staff productivity by up to 20
        percent.

-- The StaffManager system: reduces flight delay costs by up to
five percent and improves utilization of staff and resources
        by up to 25 percent.

“The need for carriers to incorporate technology to help them work
smarter and faster in an extremely competitive environment will only
continue,” Clampett said. “The Streamline suite has proven its value
to help companies focus resources on the tasks that matter most and
bring the best value to their traveling customers.”
