Air Blue Selects Sabre Airline Solutions for Launch into Pakistan Market

Excitement for the SabreSonic New Generation Reservation Solution Continues for Both Low Cost and Full Alliance Models

SOUTHLAKE, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 8, 2004– Air Blue, Pakistan’s newest low cost carrier, has signed a deal
with Sabre Airline Solutions for SabreSonic, the new generation of
passenger solutions based on flexible, open systems, and Sabre AirOps
Load Manager, allowing the carrier to produce optimal aircraft loading
plans.

As the first passenger management solution to be built on open
systems architecture, SabreSonic provides low cost and alliance
carriers unique flexibility, allowing airlines to implement an
individual module or a fully integrated solution encompassing the
airlines entire passenger management.

“As a start-up carrier, Air Blue needed a flexible passenger
management solution capable of adapting to the future changes in the
marketplace,” said Tariq Chaudhary, CEO Air Blue. “SabreSonic gives us
the competitive advantage we needed and the functionality to respond
to future market changes whilst delivering a solution with bankable
results.”

SabreSonic is based on a customer-centric approach and provides
more options for travelers.

Air Blue selected the full, integrated suite of SabreSonic, which
includes:

  • SabreSonic Res — offering advanced reservations management
capabilities for airlines of all sizes around the world. This
capability provides Air Blue the ability to grow revenue
efficiently and manage every channel of distribution. The
offering includes the industry’s leading online booking
engine, along with shopping, ticketing and codeshare
capabilities all managed from a single, easy-to-use graphical
    user interface (GUI).
  • SabreSonic Check-In — enabling both efficient passenger
processing and a customer-centric focus both on and off
airport. This suite helps Air Blue streamline operations and
enhance the customer travel experience. Capabilities in this
suite include check-in, re-accommodation and automated fee
collection capabilities, all managed from a single,
    easy-to-use GUI.
  • SabreSonic Inventory — offering advanced inventory management
capabilities such as serial, virtual and continuous nesting to
enable the industry’s only origin-destination based inventory
    management.
  • SabreSonic Command — the only Web-based tool available in the
industry that offers flexible options for an airline to easily
and quickly configure and manage its passenger solution system
from one central location based on the carrier’s profile.

In addition to SabreSonic, Air Blue also will implement Sabre
AirOps Load Manager. Fully integrated with the airlines system
operation control suite, Load Manager helps load controllers by
producing optimal aircraft loading plans, ensuring that weight and
balance requirements are effectively met.

Generating time and cost savings by coordinating aircraft loading
plans, the system improves weight calculations, allowing passenger
weights to be calculated with unused weight allowance reallocated for
additional cargo or passengers. Load Manager also displays vital
information, calculating the required fuel based on performance
weights limits and streamlines systems integration with a link to the
host based airport check-in system. Load Manager is a direct interface
with the SabreSonic Check In international airport processing, which
centrally coordinates the work of dispatchers, fuelers, gate agents,
and ramp personnel to most effectively load the aircraft for weight
and balance distribution. This function maximizes revenue and ensures
on-time performance.

“Air Blue will benefit from a tightly integrated solution that
helps drive down costs and drives up revenues,” said Vinay Dube, vice
president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Sabre Airline Solutions.
“The investments we have made over many years are resulting in smart
technology solutions that provide results for our customers today and
carriers like Air Blue get real solutions rather than promises of
technology to come.”
