Happy International Women’s Day! As a woman in technology, leaders always strive to support women in obtaining additional employment opportunities and succeeding in their positions. Recognizing the difficulties women encounter and tackling the gender inequality gap are assisting the IT sector in eradicating biases and resulting in more women thriving in leadership positions, ultimately resulting in gender equality in the male-dominated tech sector.

In this article, we have interacted with many tech leaders to understand how they are helping women techies break the barriers and helping them to face the challenges in the STEM field.

Sunitha Chandrasekaran, Sr. Manager – Software Engineering, Sabre India, said, “Why do we have a theme, every year? Well, we need to determine the areas that need improvement, re-focus and align appropriate resources to make sure there is progress. This year’s theme – ‘Embrace Equity’, takes into account that different people come from different circumstances, and to achieve equal outcomes, a variety of resources need to be allocated appropriately. This is important because simply providing equal opportunities to women is not always enough. To truly level the playing field, we need to understand where women are coming from and what their path for the future is so that they can be supported, as per their individual needs.” Read more
