Mercedes Cambon is People Team Director for Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC). Based in Montevideo, she is responsible for all human resources functions in the region, including the Montevideo center with over 900 team members performing in over 230 job functions.
With prior experience in multinational and local IT companies, Mercedes started her career at Sabre back in January 2012 as an HR generalist and benefits specialist. Since then, she has held various roles within the People Team organization, including Senior Lead and Manger for the LAC region, before moving into her current expanded role.
Mercedes leads a team that is responsible for supporting Sabre business operations in LAC through talent development initiatives, succession plans, regional compensation strategies, attracting and hiring the best talent, change management, among others.
A native from Uruguay, Mercedes holds a Communications degree from the Catholic University of that country, and a master’s degree in Internal Communications. She has a strong interest and focus on the areas of workplace experience, company culture, and talent development.
