T20 World Cup: What corporate leaders can learn from India’s defeat to Pakistan
Yes, a streak of consecutive five times victory against the neighbour in the T20 World Cup has been broken. And yes, the Indian team did not win any ICC trophies under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. But will this one event demolish the pinnacle of past achievements? The corporate world is no doubt too filled with such examples.
To Sanjeeb Patel, Director – Software Engineering, Sabre Bengaluru GCC, it’s a similar story when it comes to corporate leadership.
“Just because history was in India’s favour for the past several years, it does not mean that it will repeat itself each time. Each match is a fresh start, and what matters is one’s preparation, focus, hard work, attention to detail, and attitude,” he said.
So, he suggests, “set achievable goals and set proportionate expectations, and let your hard work define the outcome.”
