Editor’ Note: Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing criminal activities in the world. Unfortunately, the transportation industry often is unwittingly used by human traffickers. The U.S. Department of Transportation, under the direction of Secretary Ray LaHood, is fighting back against the use of our transportation infrastructure in this modern-day slavery. In addition to many of the DOT initiatives Mr. LaHood discusses in his guest blog, he also joined with Sabre Holdings in launching the Passport to Freedom initiative earlier this year.
