A recent survey by Skift, an online travel publication, shows that a majority of people don’t mind being asked to turn off their electronic device during a portion of their flight.
That was a bit surprising to me. I know I do not want to be forced to turn off my laptop or smartphone in flight – especially if I’m in the middle of something.
A committee of experts from technology companies and airlines recently submitted recommendations to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on how airline passengers should be able to use electronic devices in flight.
While the committee’s work has not yet been made public and with the U.S. government into its second full week of a shut down, it’s unclear when the FAA will provide guidance on this hot topic.
QUESTION FOR YOU: Tell us – do you mind being told to turn off your electronic device during a portion of flight? And while you’re at it – tell us what one electronic device you cannot live without on a plane?
