Raising the bar at Europe’s premier travel trade fair

The global travel industry will converge on Berlin this week to take part in one of the biggest and best industry events – ITB.

More than 10,000 exhibitors from 188 countries and 110,000 travel professionals –  43% who come here from abroad include tour operators, technology companies,airlines, hotels and many other  suppliers.  Travel experts from Sabre Hospitality Solutions and Sabre Travel Network will be at the event showcasing solutions and sharing their perspectives on important issues impacting the industry.

The European, Middle East and Africa divisions of Travel Network and Hospitality Solutions share a common booth in hall 8.1, stand 125.

Alex Alt, President and General Manager of Sabre Hospitality Solutions, and Harald Eisenäecher, Senior Vice President, EMEA, Sabre Travel Network, will speak about efforts to stop human trafficking and the new “Responsible Traveler” program and big data, respectively.

The executives’ speaking engagements will kick off his huge event on Day 1:

–          Harald’s Big Data Keynote, on March 5, 1:05 – 1:35 pm (Central European Time), hopes to inspire the audience about big data possibilities in travel. “Big Data – A Key Resource For Advanced Customer Needs And Added Value,” will provide a glimpse into what data exists today, and look at companies taking advantage of big data in interesting ways and experimenting with it.  Harald will be speaking to an audience of 500 industry experts in ITB’s Main Hall. –          Sabre joins forces to promote a UNWTO/UNODC campaign inviting tourists to become responsible travelers and help fight human trafficking.  Alex will speak at the anti-human trafficking campaign launch  Panel discussion. On March 5, 2 – 3 pm, Alex joins the exclusive panel in the Auditorium New York next to Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary General, Yury Fedotov, UNOCD Executive Director, Pascal Lamy, Chair, World Committee on Tourism Ethics and Kathleen Mathews, Executive Vice President Marriott Hotels International.

–          Joakim Everstin’s Mobile Speaking Opp is another speaker highlight on Friday, March 7. Travel Network’s Head of Customer Innovations and Technology Partner Program EMEA, is “In Touch With The Multi-Device Traveller” and speaks live on the eTravel World Stage at 3 pm.
