As president of Sabre Airline Solutions, Hugh Jones oversees the world’s leading provider of technology solutions to the air transportation industry. A 27-year veteran of the travel industry, Hugh’s diverse experience at Sabre has equipped him to lead Sabre Airline Solutions through a period of dynamic growth. Under his guidance, the organization underwent a strategic transformation with emphasis on improving scalability and productivity. As a result, the business has more than doubled over the last four years.
Prior to his role in Sabre Airline Solutions, Hugh served as the president and CEO of Travelocity Global. In this position he was responsible for a portfolio of online travel businesses, including Travelocity, lastminute.com and ZUJI. During his tenure, the business saw increased profitability in the international space, expanded its media footprint and moved into new areas with the Travelocity Partner Network loyalty programs. He also oversaw the rollout of the organization’s global hotel distribution and international shopping and booking platforms.
In earlier career positions at Sabre, Hugh held a number of executive positions including COO of Sabre Travel Network with a focus on airline supplier initiatives and global customer support.
Hugh began his career in the travel industry with American Airlines in 1988 where he held a variety of finance positions including International Controller based in London.
A big sports enthusiast, Hugh is a diehard Green Bay Packers football fan. He is an avid skier and especially enjoys the slopes of Park City, Utah, with his wife and two daughters.
He received his master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University and his bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Wisconsin.
