In December 2008, we acquired United Kingdom-based EB2, a leading supplier of world-class e-commerce software products, solutions, infrastructure and services to global airlines. Upon our acquisition, EB2's operations in Manila were renamed Sabre Philippines. Part of the attraction of acquiring of EB2 was the development center in Manila. We saw this as an important opportunity in this region. We chose Manila as our regional base because of the quality of its manpower resources. The literacy rate in Philippines is over 94 percent, making it one of the highest in developing countries. There is also great emphasis on higher education, with Philippines producing 350,000 graduates every year. Philippines was also chosen because of its strategic business location — right in the heart of Asia, just four hours flying time away from major capital cities in the region. We have many customers in this region, allowing us to provide the best customer service in the area. Philippines' own vibrant aviation market is another reason for our location.

Sabre Philippines is primarily tasked with the development, customization, hosting and support of the Sabre Airline Solutions® e-commerce solutions for airlines. Sabre Philippines moved into a new facility in the Rockwell Business Center in Ortigas in early May 2010 to keep up with the growth and to provide a professional working environment for its employees. The office currently has a staff of 130 people.

Airlines in the region are interested in boosting their e-commerce functions and capabilities. In recent periods, the airline community has sold more directly to end travelers, which has triggered historical demand for our e-commerce solutions and support service. Additionally, Sabre Philippines is now also expanding its capabilities in the solutions delivery and consulting arm of Sabre Airline Solutions. And other business units within the company are currently evaluating the feasibility of expanding in Manila.

Sabre Philippines is also actively working with local colleges and universities to establish relationships with our business, the type of work we do in Manila and the skills and talent we look for to support our college recruiting programs.
