Government Affairs
We are in a unique position to be in the forefront of legislation in countries around the world. We help to develop workable policy solutions that advance the strength and competitiveness of travel and tourism, as well as aid our individual stakeholders in providing their component of services to the travel industry.
Our chairman and CEO, Sam Gilliland, was appointed to a second term as a member of the U.S. Commerce Department’s Travel and Tourism Advisory Committee by Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez. The committee serves as an advisory body to the Secretary of Commerce on matters relating to the travel and tourism industry in the United States.
U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Gary Locke appointed Sabre President Tom Klein to serve on the Corporation for Travel Promotion (CTP) board of directors. CTP is a non-profit corporation that will promote travel to the United States and communicate and improve the entry process for visitors.
One focus area for our environmental sustainability initiatives is to promote environmentally responsible and sustainable business practices in travel. We do this through engagement with industry associations, customers, communities or by partnering on sustainability initiatives.
